    1. Describe una vida sin grandes hazañas ni sobresaltos, como la del 99,99 % de los seres humanos, que nacemos, crecemos, procuramos no hacer daño a nadie y un día nos vamos sin hacer ruido. Muy humano.

    2. 3.5 starsThis mini novel is the first in Willa Cather's Great Plains Trilogy and is the shortest of the three. The books are all different and can be read in any order; however, they all share a focus on the prairie landscape and on the women of this American frontier at the turn of the nineteenth century. The feminist component imbued in these stories was a trailblazer in its time. The three books are as follows: O Pioneers! (1913), The Song of the Lark (1915), and My Antoniá (1918).O Pioneers! [...]

    3. I am not sure how this book has escaped my reading it before now. I adore historical fiction. I read a lot about the prairie days of westward expansion and of the hard working pioneer families that are a part of my ancestry. However, somehow this book was missed. Throughout high school, college and personal reading. I am glad that I discovered it.Honestly, I don't recall hearing Cather's name before which is a shock as well. I must say that I will be looking into more of her writings in the futu [...]

    4. Somehow I never learned about Willa Cather in my long years of learning. I got this book for a book club assignment in a reading club. We were exclusively exploring the American novel. This was such simple writing. So easy to read and the plot was pretty common. They could do a lovely Downton Abbie style mini series. But Willa Cather manages to sneak in history lessons, cultural understanding, religious ideas, family, love, secrets, mistakes, friendships, envy, strength, women's place and so mu [...]

    5. The author writes with an eye to every detail. Nor knowing what the plants were or what they looked like, I looked them up, then pictured the sights the author described as I read the description agsin. The beauty of the setting became, briefly, more real than my location. The main character is especially importantyou think of the year it was written, & the era of the book, you don't expect this type of main character in this role, but such women were the lifeblood of the West. The author shows t [...]

    6. This book surprised me, it wasn't what I was expecting. It was assigned for an American History course, and the title sounded boring. "Oh, it's about pioneers. Fun. Wow. Gee." But the author did a good job. It's a very interesting book. I don't want to tell you more, because it will spoil the surprise. Just read it.
