    About "F. Scott Fitzgerald"

      • F. Scott Fitzgerald

        F. Scott Fitzgerald Is a well-known author, some of his books are a fascination for readers like in the The Beautiful and Damned (Oxford World’s Classics) book, this is one of the most wanted F. Scott Fitzgerald author readers around the world.

    1. Maravillosa novela de uno de los mejores escritores norteamericanos. Personajes de una profundidad pasmosa envueltos en un torbellino de pasiones en un entorno de crisis.

    2. Book came in time, really fast, in perfect condition. No complaints to make! I will totally buy again. Thank you!

    3. There's a reason F. Scott is one of the GOATs. What he can do in describing a dinner scene is greater than what most authors can do in their entire novels. The words here are beautiful, decadent, oozing style and grace and charm and sensuality in spades. While the pacing is often slow, when you realize that it was done deliberately you begin to enjoy the words upon words F. Scott uses to delve into the minutiae of these people's lives. Anthony and Gloria aren't exactly likable characters, and th [...]

    4. Beautifully written tale of wealth, selfishness, addiction, and falling from society. Anthony Patch had no ambition to work for a living because he just knew he was going to inherit his grandfather's estate. Gloria Patch lived on her beauty. Nothing mattered to these two except having drunken parties and spending money they didn't have. Because they knew Grandfather Patch would leave everything to Anthony. When Grandfather Patch doesn't leave them anything they didn't stop spending. Eventu [...]

    5. This book was one hell of an experience. When I started reading the book, well 50 pages down and I was EXHAUSTED! The book is overwhelming in every measure. It makes you feel varied emotions some too strong to even comprehend. By the time you're about 110 pages down, the book begins to make absolutely no sense and you begin to wonder whether the book has ever seen an editor. Following that the book has several ramblings, a real daily soap talking about two people who are completely screwed up in [...]

    6. I enjoyed reading this novel for Fitzgerald's brilliant portrayal of broken and twisted characters who give into the Seven Deadly Sins, and their rewards. Fitzgerald's writing style in this book makes it apparent that he's still developing and honing his skill, yet it doesn't distract from the story. I really like "The Beautiful and Damned."

    7. I really liked The Great Gatsby. Reading this in high school was like reading Shakespeare in high school. I got through it, but didn't care for it or understand why it was so great. As it was when I read Shakespeare recently, I fell in love with this book. I think the characters were so rich and well-developed and the language was so beautiful. Further, Fitzgerald's dissection of the failure of the American Dream is incredible. The reason I reduced it to four stars is, in essence, Nick. Nick's th [...]
